OpenLogicSim Released

Sun Oct 1 14:59:11 2006

It's been a long time coming, but you can now finally download OpenLogicSim, along with all the project documentation. Click here to go to the website. I've also been doing a bit of tidying up around this site. In particular, there's a bit more information on Scream Multiplayer: JK and a page for my abandoned projects.

Back In Business!

Fri Jun 02 12:11:46 2006

The site is now back up and running on a new server. I've finished my degree course now so OpenLogicSim will be out soon, and there's a few other updates to the site:

OpenLogicSim: OpenLogicSim is now completely finished and will be released as soon as the university term ends. You'll be able to get it from the OpenLogicSim website.

Facebook: I now have a Facebook account! You need to be a Facebook member to see it though (it generally requires a university email address for you to join).

Scream Multiplayer: JK: This is my only current "active" project - it's basically Scream MP converted to JK and much improved with reflective water, breakable and lockable doors, and many more new features. Check out the newly-made page for it.

JK Editing Hub: I am now using the JK Editing Hub to show details on Scream Multiplayer: JK, the JK and MotS Gravity Gun, and my unfinished bits and bobs. The "Bits and Bobs" page has details on quite a few unreleased projects that you've probably not seen before.

OpenLogicSim Website Online

Fri Oct 7 18:01:32 2005

For my third year project at The University of Warwick I am developing an open-source logic simulator in Java. I've set up a separate website to track and promote the progress of the project. For more information either go directly to www.openlogicsim.tk, or click here to view the gateway page.

Engagement!

Mon Oct 3 23:06:22 2005

On September 30th, Char and I got engaged after being together for almost two years. Thanks to everyone who's congratulated us!

Server Move

Thu Sep 22 20:11:52 2005

This website has now been transferred to a new server ready for a future ISP change. You shouldn't notice any difference when using the www.chrisswan.tk address, but the direct URL is now http://myweb.tiscali.co.uk/chrisswan rather than http://www.theswanfamily.freeserve.co.uk. The old Freeserve address will continue to host an outdated version of the site until it's deleted.

JK and MotS Gravity Gun

Sat Aug 27 20:12:41 2005

Now available to download! Fully-functional Gravity Gun for JK and MotS. Inspired by, and works in much the same way as the Half-Life 2 one. Versatility is the main goal – It works with any game object in any level (even user-made ones). SP and MP compatible. Replaces the Bryar Pistol. Check it out!

The Admiral's Command Chamber is now hosting The New Empire Special Edition (Part 1). Click here to download it. Please use the forum at the Admiral's Command Chamber or email me to give feedback or ask questions.

The New Empire Special Edition (Part 1) Released

Mon Apr 11 11:36:29 2005

Part 1 of The New Empire Special Edition is now complete and has been submitted to Massassi and The Admiral's Command Chamber. It should be available for download from those sites in a few days. Meanwhile, you can check out the updated TNESE page for more details and some screenshots.

Big Update

Fri Feb 11 23:34:00 2005

I haven't posted any updates here for a long time but I plan to do them a bit more often from now on. I've just made some major updates to the site and have also come to a decision about my editing projects.

The New Empire Special Edition: The New Empire Special Edition was going to include enhanced versions of TNE1 and TNE2, along with two new levels to complete the series. I've almost finished the enhanced version of Part 1 but I don't have the time any more to consider finishing the project, so I'll be releasing Part 1 alone, hopefully in April. At some point I will probably also release the incomplete version of TNE3 (the last two levels of TNESE). I'm not totally ruling out completing the series, but as things stand it's just not going to be possible. Thankyou to everyone who has downloaded, played and sent me mail about the TNE series over the past few years, and I promise you won't be disappointed by what there is of TNESE. Check out the TNESE page for details and future updates.

Driveable Vehicle Cog: I've finally decided to release this as it's unlikely it's ever going to debut in one of my levels. You can read about it here or download it directly. You can use and modify the cog as much as you like, but please give me credit for the original.

Scream MP: I'm not releasing any more versions of Scream MP for MotS now, but if you want to try the new MotS detail HOM patch at Massassi with Scream MP, it should help to reduce the detail HOM that occurred in some areas. I'm now developing a much improved version of Scream MP for Half-Life 2 (Scream MP: Source). Look at the Scream MP: Source page for more details.

Website Changes: Due to numerous problems with Firefox and Mozilla, I've reworked the menu bars on this site and made a couple of other fixes as well. There should now be no problems viewing the site in Internet Explorer, Firefox or Mozilla. I've also added new pages and information about my new editing projects and updated a lot of the existing pages here, so have a look around if you want.

Charlotte's Website: You might have noticed the pink link in the menu bar to Charlotte's Site. This is my girlfriend's website and it has a bunch of stuff about her and me, so please take a look!

"GTA Vice City: Police Incompetence" Released

Fri Apr 16 10:22:30 2004

I haven't had time to update anything here for a long time due to university and other commitments. Anyway, I've finally managed to get my Vice City video hosted. I actually made this quite a while ago but it's now been on Fileplanet for a few days and has already achieved more than 400 downloads. The video itself is a hilarious 4 minute series of clips of the Vice City police doing ridiculous things and generally messing everything up. All footage was taken by me and David Perry without any cheats. It can be downloaded from here and weighs in at 26MB so please check it out and let me know what you think.

New Web Counter

Thu Jun 26 10:53:57 2003

The company providing the counter that this site has always used is removing its free counter service, so I've now got a new free one from WebCounter. The previous counter racked up 3419 visits, and this has been carried through to the new one, so the visitor count is still correct.

New File Download System

Fri May 30 11:15:46 2003

There are now local mirrors for downloading all of my files. When you choose to download a file, you will now be taken to a page where you can choose a server to download from. There are at least two mirrors for each file, so you should always be able to find a working server to download from.

New Dot TK Address For Site

Tue May 6 20:24:46 2003

This site can now be accessed by using the URL http://www.chrisswan.tk. The site has not changed servers - this new URL simply links to the site, but it's easier to remember than http://www.theswanfamily.freeserve.co.uk. The site can still, of course, be accessed using the Freeserve address if you prefer. For your own free Dot TK domain name, visit Dot TK. However, Dot TK do not offer webspace - they simply give you a free top-level domain name to link to your own site stored elsewhere.

Scream MP 1.5 Released

Tue May 6 16:38:34 2003

Scream MP Beta 1.5 is now available for download. Either click here or choose "Scream Multiplayer" from the "Downloads" menu above. The file size is now almost exactly 10MB. Unless any major problems are encountered I'll be releasing the level to Massassi in the next few days. Version 1.5 features many bug fixes (most importantly for the doors and lights, which now work perfectly), as well as two new Killer skins with glow-in-the-dark masks. This will probably be the last version of Scream MP, although a high-definition pack and spin-off levels may be made in the future.

Scream MP Update

Sat Feb 8 21:38:58 2003

I've deleted Scream MP from my site now to make room for other things. You can still get it from Massassi, and the next version (1.5) will be available to download from here or Massassi in a few days. It features several bug fixes - the lights and doors now work perfectly.

Scream MP Released

Fri Sep 13 14:07:50 2002

Scream MP Beta 1.4 has now been released. You can download it here. It will also be released at Massassi soon. The Scream MP info page is now online too.

Scream MP

Thu Sep 05 19:23:43 2002

Scream MP has now entered final beta stages and should be released ahead of schedule. There are just a couple of things to sort out, and then I'll upload it here, where you can download it first. I'll then be submitting it to Massassi sometime soon. Scream MP will be a 9MB download approximately.

Updates

Sat Aug 24 15:02:39 2002

It's been a long time since I updated this site, but the visitors still seem to be coming at about the same rate and it shouldn't be too long before the count reaches 2500. Anyway, I've updated and fixed a few things on the site, and the menus are arranged a bit differently now. Look out for more updates soon, as I will be releasing two levels- The New Empire Special Edition and Scream Multiplayer. The info pages for these should be up in the next week or so.

Site Redesign

Sun Jul 29 19:41:52 2001

Right, I've made a few minor changes, fixed some bugs, and archived all the old news. The menus all work, and the message boards are online. One links page is still to be completed, but the site is now fully-functional.

Site Redesign

Sun Jul 22 22:24:33 2001

OK, this may come as a surprise to most people. I never really planned this, but the other day I decided to redesign my site. It's not totally finished and there are a couple of bugs to sort out and some cool Javascripts to add, but everything should work OK. The main addition is the message board, so don't forget to visit it. Use the drop-down menus at the top of each page to navigate around, but please don't use the menus whilst on the message boards, as they don't work properly there yet for some reason. I've contacted EzBoard so hopefully they'll be working soon. Thanks to my 1400+ visitors from the old site. Hopefully the new site will get even more!
