My Studies with the Open University

Initially, I decided to take an Open University course as part of my recovery from M.E. (see my 'Achievements' page for more information) and hopefully to create a route back to the workplace. I really do believe that studying has helped because it has given me a regained sense of purpose and something to aim for. To date, I have completed three Open University Courses; an achievement that I am very proud of.

I began my studies with the Open University in January 2006. At first, I was unsure about studying from home due to the possibility of receiving little contact with tutors and other students. I can honestly say that I need not have worried. Overall, the level of tuition, help and support provided by the Open University has been excellent.

Ultimately, I have not yet decided how far I will take my studies with the Open University. If I have the opportunity to continue, I hope to put the two Certificates for which I am currently studying (IT and Computing and Web Applications Development), toward an Open Degree. When my health has improved sufficiently, I intend to use the knowledge I have gained in the workplace. My life-long goal is to set-up and run a company of my own.
