Special Quality Alloys

A manufacturer and distributor of bar, forgings and semi-finished steel components; Special Quality Alloys offered me the position of Sales Executive in July 2002. Initially, I worked in the International Sales sector of this company, and later progressed to manage the sales account of one of their major customers.

My job mainly involved responding to requests from customers for quotes of the manufacture of components. Also, I occasionally visited customers to discuss their requirements in more depth. In 2003, I attended the Achema science and engineering exhibition in Frankfurt with a work colleague to seek potential new customers.

The company's speciality focuses on manufacturing and distributing components made from nickel based superalloys and speciality steels. The industries that comprise Special Quality Alloys' market include the Oil, Gas and Aerospace industries, along with many others. I often liaised with the onsite metallurgists to ensure that the products met the stringent standards imposed by these industries. Also, a thorough understanding of the processes of forging, heat treatment, testing (both destructive and non-destructive), machining and coating was essential in the costing of these products.
