Medium Wave DXing

Clashmore is a great place for MW DXing since it's electrically very quiet, and I can run out some nice long beverage antennas.

I'm DX Loggings editor for the Medium Wave News magazine, and you can find out more about this hobby by going to the Medium Wave Circle website.

More details of my MW DXing activities may be found on the following pages:

Receiving Equipment - details of receiving setup and antennas.

Medium Wave Logs - links to logs of stations heard in Clashmore and to recordings of MW DX..

Carrier Monitoring - waterfall displays of carriers monitored using Spectrum Analysis techniques.

Short Wave & Tropical Bands DXing

As with MW, Clashmore is also very good for DXing on the Tropical and Short Wave bands, but I've not done too much of this here - Medium Wave is my first love, and it takes priority most of the time. Have a look at the British DX Club website for more information.

VHF/FM Band II DXing

With a good sea path to the south/south west, and opportunities for auroral DX, Clashmore provides some interesting opportunities for VHF/FM DX that I haven't yet fully explored. More details of this aspect of the hobby are available on the British FM & TV Circle (Skywaves) website.
