A good Day Out

08.06.08  It was a perfect Day at Dent Village for Steam -Ale's first outing.

08.06.08 A visit to Kirby Stephen East station , Note the new roof on the class 20.

Class 47785 in reasonable condition awaits restoration.

The next visit was to Warcop, the railway is not operating at the moment because of a bridge been hit by a road vehicle. Their should be back in operation by August 2008.

 

At the end of the day we paid a visit to Ian Watson G scale Garden railway, some were sun bathing.

08.06.08  WCRC have despatched 47804 47851 and 57601 to Scotland to collect 37407 (WNSO) from Mossend and 37424 (WNSO) from Motherwell. They are being brought south to Crewe for forwarding to the Churnet Valley Railway by road. The convoy, running as 0Z57, left Motherwell at 15:00 and is booked to pass Carlisle at 17:53, Carnforth 20:28, Lancaster 20:34, Preston 21:08 and Crewe 22:50. There are several stops factored into the schedule which may or may not be taken. by Mike Ford.

With STEAM -ALE

A visit to the Heritage Centre were our group saw      the Model Railway Built By Brian Irwin.

A modern crane is a must for a railway yard.           Note the L.N.E.R coach.

This wagon will be scraped, the railway have to many and the money can be better used in other projects.

The railway is Diesel powered by retired units from    the Southern & Network South East stock.
