From the A16 at Louth turn right onto the bypass A157 sign posted Manby & Mablethorpe. After about 1 mile you come to another roundabout. Go straight over for Manby on the B1200. Keep to this road until you come to a set of traffic lights. Turn left at these lights onto Tinkle street (don't worry that it's sign posted Louth at this stage) and follow through its twists and turns 'til you come to South Cockerington. After about 100 yds you will see a telephone box on the right on the corner of a small staggered crossroads. DON'T MISS THIS TURN! Turn right here onto Marsh Lane to South Somercotes. Follow the road again. As you come into South Somercotes you will see the church with it's spire but DON'T turn right shortly after even though it's sign posted to Skidbrooke. Instead, follow the road left in front of the post office and into Billings Gate to the staggered cross roads at the end, about 400 yds. Go almost opposite ( a little left and right squiggle) into Cloddygate. We are the first and only farmhouse on the left.
If you are coming southbound from the direction of Grimsby take the A1031 to North Somercotes. As you come into the village turn right just before the Ave & Cleaver Public House onto South Road. After about a mile Cloddygate is the 3rd left, (after Church End and Brickyard Fisheries and opposite the turn to South Somercotes.)
Don't worry if you miss the turn at the Axe & Cleaver, carry on through the village instead. Past Oasis & Lakeside fisheries on your left. Then take the next turning right, this is Owes Lane but does not have a road name on it. There is, however, a sign to Louth on the Junction. Cloddygate Farm is 3/4 mile on the right. (The only farmhouse on the right.)
If you are coming up the coast on the A1031 from Mablethorpe etc. just follow the road 'til you're through Saltfleet but don't turn off yet! There is a turn in Saltfleet to Skidbrooke but it's the wrong end. Keep to the main road until almost in North Somercotes, easily a country mile. Once again, Owes Lane is unmarked and to your left. Shortly before you will see Wrights Fencing on your left and just before a post box and phone box opposite each other either side of the road. Indicate left as soon as you see them even if you can't yet see the turn. Cloddygate Farm is 3/4 mile on the right. (The only farmhouse on the right.)
