Minutes of the Previous Meeting
The minutes of the previous meeting were read, and then accepted as a true record.
Matters Arising
Half Marathon Mementoes It was hoped that the Bobble hats could be embroidered with Clowne Road Runners. Trevor and Greg were still looking in to the possibility of getting them done, hopefully at a cost of no more than a pound. No decision was made as Greg was absent from the meeting.
X-country The new course and venue seemed quite reasonable with no complaints being received. It was hoped that the course and venue could be used again next year.
No problems were encountered with either marshals or horses.
The final results saw Clowne Men coming second overall with the women 4th. It was hoped that the club could attract more female runners for next year.
Grand Prix / Membership
No updates were given as Steve Shipp was not at the meeting.
A.O.B.
Half Marathon Terry Richardson read out a report from the race scrutineer, Ernie Cripps. In synopsis it read "Well organised and well marshalled with good back-up facilities. Clowne RR can feel proud to have organised such an event and the County privileged to have held their Championships as part of the race".
The membership thought it was a great report.
Elmton Chase John Proffitt enquired as to which date the Elmton Chase would be held on - yet to be decided, someone needed to look back in the records to when the race was held in 2003.
Handicap Race to be held on 1st July 2005, the Chairman asked if the catering was organised yet as he could arrange something if required. All was in hand.
Terry Richardson enquired if people had heard about the Bluebell Wood Hospice appeal. He brought to the clubs attention a race at Chatsworth to aid the Hospice. The race / walk will be held on Sunday 8th May.
One seat was available on the Isle of Bute trip.
Roger pointed out that the new medical centre may affect the path next to the library for the handicap race and may also impact on the half marathon and fun run.
Terry Richardson gave a brief update from one of the conservation meetings that he attends. Two main historical buildings in Clowne had been saved and a possibility of a third was likely.
John Proffitt said that the attendance at the previous nights training was very disappointing, it was hoped that it would pick-up from now on.
It was pointed out that the Peter Goucher part of the Clowne RR website was in urgent need of an update with conflicting information on the site overall. It was thought that perhaps Les Banton could have a word with Peter before the next meeting.
The End.
