MINUTES OF THE CLOWNE ROAD RUNNERS MEETING
4th April 2007

Present:
Terry Richardson, Lewis Banton, Les Banton, Hilary Smith, Maurice Jones, Trevor Platts, John Proffitt, Dave Johnson, Paul Sadler, Greg Goddard, Paul Blunt, Steve Shipp, Roger Street.
Minutes and Matters Arising:
The minutes were read and agreed as a true record.
The Chairman was not present and Terry (Club President) stood in as Vice Chairman.
Vice Chairman informed members that Janet Butterworth was currently in hospital and all agreed to send a card and some flowers to wish her a speedy recovery.
There are still discrepancies concerning results.
Clowne ½ Marathon:
Les reported the entry forms were to be printed in about 6 week's time and Steve commented the race was already being advertised.
Steve reported he had received the final proof of the mementos and was now waiting for the final one to arrive for approval.
The Vice Chairman reminded members that the Clowne Road Runners Club was officially started in January 1984 and would be 25years old in 2009 and so be celebrating its 25th ½ marathon. He suggested members think about how the club could commemorate this.
Club/Membership Secretary:
Dennis was not present.
Club Captain:
Dave reported training nights were still being well attended and going well. The induction document was almost complete.
He had received and email from a lady runner in Wirksworth asking for advice on how to set a up a running club and Dave would send email on to members who may be able to give her advice.
Terry noted that the Wirksworth Incline Fell Race was on 20th April.
Club Treasurer:
Lewis was present but had no news.
Social Secretary:
John noted he was keeping a record of race times and reminded members it was their responsibility to give him their times.
Grand Prix:
Steve gave out the results after four Grand Prix races. He noted he had not listed the results from the Grisdale Trail race as this was the special race and members should save the results and decide whether to use this race as part of the GP later on in the year.
Steve also called for help and support with the Ranby 10 mile race on Sunday 6th April because he was short of marshals.
Next GP race is the Larwood 10k on 11th May.
AOB:
Les reported he had read an article in the quarterly BARR Newsletter asking for scrutineers for BARR races if anyone is interested in this they should see Les who would direct them to the details in the newsletter.
Maurice noted his UKA membership card records him as Maurice Jone and his date of birth 2025!!
