MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF CLOWNE ROAD RUNNERS FRIDAY 2nd December 2005
Apologies:
Andrea Jackson, Dennis Learad Steve Shipp and Trevor Platt.
The minutes of the previous meeting were read and agreed as a true record.
The Chairman mentioned that we had several new members joining tonight, although they were not all present he welcomed Andrea Walker, Donna Thompson, Sharon Bache, Fiona Cunliffe and Sarah Coakley.
Terry Richardson had taken
the decision not send flowers to Dave Wright’s wife.
Clowne Half Marathon (Post Mortem) – Les reported having several positive reports on the day of the race and many subsequent emails. Les said that the initial vibes from the BARR representative were good.
Geoff Jackson heard that there were a few comments about stale sandwiches and tea being served in plastic cups as opposed to polystyrene ones. The heath and hygiene aspect of this would need to be brought up with the Cricket Club caterers straight away and they would also need reminding just before next years race.
There was an instance of the lead runners running on the wrong side of the road at one point which would need to be addressed for next year.
Further comments were received about the showers being cold and complaints about the registration not being at the changing area.
The race totalled 711 entries in all, with about 90 entries received on the day and 559 finishers.
Friends of Folk donation – The club were asked if a donation could be made to the Bassetlaw twining association. This was proposed, seconded and passed. Could someone let Eric know a donation of £500 was on its way.
Souvenirs - The Hats were well received. Thoughts that a T-shirt with the race route printed on it could be considered for next year.
Fun Run (Post Mortem) – Again very positive and Michelle reported no adverse comments on the day. Joanne Bramall took some abuse from car drivers waiting on Boughton Lane; yet again the police did not turn up at this location.
Concern over the marshals, probably better organisations of marshals was required, the fun run was not given the same priority as the half marathon.
The Chairman thanked Les and Michelle for all there efforts, and Les thanked all the helpers on the day.
Brain Banton proposed a letter of thanks to Barry Kindsey.
Dave Wright had asked if Trevor Platt could be rewarded for his efforts, the Chairman opened up the debate to the membership. The answer came back that we have a system in place for rewarding people for their efforts. The Chairman would discuss further with Dave Wright.
X-country - dates had been arranged but the cricket pavilion was not available to the club on the 22nd Jan. John Profitt would try and do a straight swap with one of the other clubs.
Training night – no issues.
Grand Prix – Steve Shipp absent - no changes
Secretary’s
spot – nothing of note.
Club
Captains – nothing to report
London
Marathon Draw –
only two rejection slips were presented so no draw was required; John Manion

Presentation

numbers for catering were required.
