Matters Arising
Half Marathon & Fun Run debrief The BARR reports were now available from Les Banton if anyone would like to see them.
***********************
X-Country Series The Chairman reported another set back as the Community Centre is now booked on the 13th March, the recently rearranged date. The club has tried to swap with the Retford venue but again Clowne Community Centre will not be available. No resolution was forthcoming at this moment in time but it looked like a different date would be required or moving to the Cricket Club.
At this point Les Banton mentioned the fact that the Cricket club charged Clowne Road Runners £50 for services provided on the day of the half marathon which was seen as a little expensive and maybe not up to standard. The Chairman said that this view needed to be balanced off against the Cricket Club providing assistance when our own membership did not seem towant to.
The Chairman said he would approach the Cricket club, Church Hall and the School to find the best option.
Presentation Night John Proffitt reported back that 78 tickets had been sold a little down on the previous year. John still had a few members who had not paid.
Les Banton requested permission run a separate raffle in aid of the Tsunami disaster, this was granted.
A.O.B. Les Banton raised the issue of the Fun Run fee being increased from £1 to £2 at the request of Michelle Manion. Several views were exchanged including how many medals should be purchased and it was eventually decided to leave the entry fee at £1 and buy 200 medals.
Les Banton suggested that the membership could help towards the Tsunami disaster by organising a race of some kind. The Welbeck estate (Lady Margret's Hall) was put forward as a suggested venue; Les would take this suggestion forward and see what could be arranged.
Les had a number of Half Marathon Prints available, including a framed print if anyone would like one.
John Proffitt mentioned the fact that there was no voucher for the first Clowne runner in the half marathon; Les said he would sort it out.
John Proffitt also mentioned that he could arrange some T-shirts as prizes for the Clowne half marathon for the price of £0.99. Screen printing would be additional making the total cost about £2.50.
Les Banton said he could obtain the 'miniatures' again, someone suggested a Christmas pudding and a miniature brandy.
At this point the tape ran out oh the suspense!
Meeting ended.
