Clowne Road Runners Club Meeting January 4th, 2008.
Minutes
Apologies were received from Geoff Jackson, Andrea Jackson, Dennis Learad, Ron Wild, and Les Bantam.
Terry Richardson as President wished all members a Happy New Year.
The minutes from December meeting were read and agreed as a true record.
Terry reminded everyone of the upcoming AGM on February 1st. January 18th is the deadline for motions in writing to be sent to Dennis Learad.
The first cross country race of the 2008 series is on 13th January at Killamarsh. Maximum attendance was requested from members by Terry. All races start at 11am
£2 entry payable is payable on the 13th January. This covers entry for all 4 races.
John Proffit agreed to mark out Clowne's Cross Country course ahead of the race. Terry has received complaints about paint on the road from previous years and asked if the permanent markings could be kept to a minimum.
John Proffit said that 57 people already agreed to come to presentation evening
Trevor Platts has already arranged the trophies.
A new member - Mick Arnold was introduced by Terry to Club members.
David Johnson asked for maximum support at Thursday training nights, particularly from female members. This will enable continuation the great support the training night has had during 2007.
Steve Ship said a large amount of people had completed the 2007 Grand Prix, all will receive an award at the presentation evening irrespective of where they finished overall
Steve reminded everyone that the 2008 Grand Prix season starts on 13th January at Killamarsh.
The President explained the London marathon club entry procedure we have 2 guaranteed places
The rules are:
A Committee member can ask for a guaranteed entry.
Anyone else can be nominated reflecting good work towards running the Club.
If there are still ticket(s) left after the above procedure has taken place any club member with a rejection slip can put their name in the hat providing they pay £2.
Dennis Learad had already asked for 1 entry which was agreed.
Graham Sheen asked for confirmation if the £2 entry rule had been abolished
Terry Richardson agreed to check and refund any monies paid if applicable.
Scott Harrington and Barrie Williams' names were put into the hat and Scott Harrington won the place.
