David was the Superintendent of the Board of Revenue, he was on the Committee of Management for Doveton College and an Honorary Presidency Magistrate. Governor of the Calcutta Free School, there is a mural tablet to his memory in St Thomas' Church, placed there by the congregation and by the Free School pupils.or of Calcutta Free School. A man full of faith and of good works, ever ready to give his time and strength freely and fully for the promotion of God's glory and the welfare of those around him. Thomas held a position in the Military Accounts Department and was an accomplished musician who was organist at the Old St James' for over 30 years including the period he continued as such of the new church. Taking over the instrument from Miss Conyers in the middle thirties he relinquished it in the late sixties to Mrs Avery. He was also a deputy magistrate and was buried at The Mission Burial Ground, Park Street, Calcutta, tomb 39.
