| Aromaroast (coffee bean roaster)....£249.95
An
innovational roaster, instead of the drum rotating, a unique ceramic Archimedes
screw ensures the beans tumble and mix moving from the top to the bottom of the
roasting chamber. The makers claim this can roast 1 kg of coffee, but tests on
the prototypes have shown that between 500-750gms gives the best result. Forced
air cooling at the end of the roast ensures the roasting process is stopped
rapidly (in addition a water mist can optionally be used by filling small
chamber in the bottom of the roaster stand before roasting ends) A 1.5 metre
flexible metal exhaust tube is included and contains a built in metal chaff
filter (removable and washable). The unit is computer controlled (all important
information such as temp and time etc. is shown on the front panel) and can
store up to 20 roast profiles. At the top there is a small port for examining a
bean sample to check the roast (similar to a professional roaster).
The unit is quiet enough for 1st and 2nd crack to be easily audible and
it plugs into a standard 13 amp wall outlet. The heating method uses warm air
with recirculation (controllable). I could waffle on for hours about this
terrific product
The Aromaroast is constructed from high grade stainless steel and anodised
aluminium. It is no lightweight weighing in at a hefty 20 kilos. Power
consumption is 2kw, The manufacturer recommends that this roaster is only used
outside or in a well ventilated outbuilding (not in a house). The vent hose must
be ducted outside! Dimensions are 500 mm High x 500mm Deep x 300mm
