The Paralympic Sailing Challenge
In 1999 I had a life changing moment, I fell down a mountain in France. The net result was permanent paralysis from the mid chest down. My life was instantly changed - but it wasn't necessarily changed for the worse. I spent some time recovering and taking stock with my partner Sarah. In 2000 we were married and after that I started to look for something to do that would both stimulate and challenge me physically and mentally.
In 2001 I found the answer in competitive sailing. Now when I go to France I'm usually towing a boat rather than carrying a set of skis.
Sailing has given me focus and purpose. My goal is now to become the best Paralympic Sailor in the world and to win a Gold Medal at London 2012.
This site will attempt to chart my progress. From it you can leave me messages; learn about Paralympic sailing and donate to my campaign. Please come back regularly and encourage your friends to visit this site too.
