has two railway stations. Colchester
North is on the main line to London
Liverpool Street and is the closest of
the two stations to Colchester General
Hospital. Fast express train services are
available direct to London (journey time
50 mins) and also to Harwich and Ipswich
from Colchester North. Trains run to
Harwich International station from where
you can pick up Ferry services to the
European continent.
From London
Liverpool street you can easily pick up
London Underground (Tube) connections -
the underground station is a short walk
from the overground terminal. London
Liverpool Street in on the Central,
Circle, Metropolitan and Hammersmith

Some train services
from Colchester stop at Stratford in East
London and from there you can pick up the
Central & Jubilee Underground Lines
as well as the Docklands Light Railway
Line. Stratford will be a central
location to the London 2012 Olympics.
Colchester Town
(formerly St Botolph's) is close to the
town centre but has fewer services
running to it.

The nearest
cash point to Colchester North
station is located on the London-bound
platform between the Cafe and W H Smith.
There is also a cash point outside the
main station entrance towards the main
car park and at the nearby ASDA
supermarket on Turner Rise. (Cross North
Station Road via the footbridge and then
cross Petrolea Close. You will see the
store directly ahead of you).
The nearest
petrol station to the North
(Ipswich) side of Colchester is at Tesco
on Highwoods Approach or Esso Ipswich
Road. Cash points are also available

The nearest
petrol station to the West
(London) side of Colchester is at
Sainsbury on Stanway or Q8 London Road.
