Historic Cottage Gutted December 1991

The cottage on the Green was gutted after a plumber's blowtorch set fire to the thatched roof. The cottage, believed to date from 1405 is a listed building due to its architectural and historic importance.
Firemen from Collingham, Newark and Southwell fought for more than 5 hours to control the blaze.
