Goldfish & Penguins
We have some fish:
We now have four. One fantail and three ordinary goldfish. Our current fish haven't been given any names as we felt it may be bad luck and they may not survive. We have had several fish over the years and had bought three Fantails sometime in 2005. Now we have only one of these left and is often upside down! When we bought them they were three little fish all together in the same tank in the shop so we felt we had to liberate them all. One of them developed a bad swim bladder problem floating upside doen, he was like it for weeks. We went away over Christmas 2005 and expected him to be gone when we returned however he was up the right way and raring to go. We had treated him with Swim Bladder treatment and aquilibrium but I think it was the starvation diet which sorted him out. Unfortunately he later decided the upside down view of things was his preferred position and he was like it until his time came to go.
There is a picture below of some of our previous fish. The big spotty one was called 'Spot' he was very greedy and bossy; the little gold and silver one at the back was Sonic. Unfortuntely They are no longer with us. Sonic had not been very well and floated upside down when he'd had too much to eat, but he lived for about 18 months so he didn't do too bad! We put some swim bladder treatment in and he sank to the bottom and stayed there for a few days until he perked up and started eating and then floated back up to the top again! He had his moments though. Casper the silver fish (just above the skull's ear!) also started showing the same symptoms and he has suffered the same fate. The other fish got quite big, fed too much I expect. They appeared to be thriving, we had them for about 3 years.

We like Penquins too so here's a selection of our favourite spheniforms:

We found our favourite penguin called Rocky. He had been missing for some time I think he was hiding in the roof somewhere and I took some photos of him and his friends.

He's quite old now and well travelled, he's been to Guernsey and Scotland. He had a little problem with his voice but an expertly performed squeakendectomy put that right and the scar doesn't show. He's now sitting on the landing windowsill out of sight of the fish!

And here's some real penguins taken at London Zoo some years ago:

And "Leave our Fish alone!"

We like eating Penguins too!! Chocolate ones. Here a link to an early Penguin advert currently posted on http://web.ukonline.co.uk/mark.mcmillan2/
