I lost a camera on Stob Coire Nan
Lochain in Glencoe. The story of it's recovery appeared in the
papers.
Here is one version of my story:

Although it makes a good story -
may I correct a few things:
The climb was a fairly easy
one on Stob Coire Nan Lochan (near Bidean Nam Bian in
Glencoe)
I didn't stop on the mountain
to take a last snap.
I realised I'd lost it next
day.
We went back a few days later
to see if it could be found.
The weather did not worsen and
we didn't get caught out in darkness.
Didn't scour mountain top (it
was lost near the foot of the climb!)
The finder of the camera was
not interviewed by the press so he couldn't have made any
of the comments attributed to him.
I did not say anything about a
magnifying glass.
The press persisted in using a
variety of spellings for my name!
I got paid £5 by the
Manchester Evening News for a further description of the
event.
It cost the reporter (an
acquaintance of mine) 3 pints for the story.
I was interviewed over the
phone by Severn Sound local Radio.
The story appeared in a little
book called something like "Would you believe
it" I think it was sold at Marks and Spensers. But
the story wasn't attributed to anyone but sounded very
familiar.
I think this sets the record
straight.
