The UN-HABITAT Global Land Tools Network (GLTN), which endorsed Land Value Taxation (LVT) several years ago, has awarded a contract worth US$20,000 to an American Green campaigner who spoke at ALTER's AGM six years ago. The contract is to develop an on-line How-To-Do-LVT web-based tool for governments and students world-wide, focused on developing countries and empowering women (who have fewest land rights).
You can download a GLTN Flyer and read the contract here
ALTER Chair Tony Vickers is one of about 40 LVT Advisers assisting Alanna in this work. Progress can be followed during coming months athttp://www.earthrights.net
The facility is due to launch in late summer 2007, in time for the Lib Dems' autumn conference. ALTER intends to use this to help delegates at Brighton see the connections between Global Warming, Poverty & Inequality, and Land Value Taxation - all of which will be the subjects of debates.
