After my views on the Warrington 2006 show were published I was pleased with the Glossop 2006 show. This show was smaller than the Warrington show but the atmosphere was a lot better, and there was plenty of chatting going on. All the layouts were worthy of a look, so I suggest you take a look at the photos here for the Cheshire Railway Modellers site to see all the layouts present at the show.

As usual, I have chosen to only present only a few layouts, which I particularly found interesting...

Burgedorf, HOe, Graham Hand (Wakefield MRS) - I think this one was just 6 foot (1.8m) long. Under the town area is the hidden sidings. I had a good natter with the operators, who were only too pleased to talk through the layout and its construction.

Negarph Valley, OO9, was good because of the number of different perspectives that you could view this layout from. Each view showed different parts of the layout in a way that is difficult to describe. I've only shown two photos below but there were tens of different points to view this layout from and see something totally different. This was due, in part, to the different track levels and the clever positioning of station buildings.

This is Credon Mill, N Guage - along with the great layout, is the simple but effective fiddle yard which has no points, instead making use of flexitrack that is moved by hand to the correct track. I thought this was brilliant! He'd also built most, if not all, of the buildings from scratch - they all felt unique.
