Intres Model Railway

The Intres model railway was constructed between October 2003 and June 2004. In  June 2004, it was replaced with Thalwil model railway - a short lived larger sized n-gauge railway which wasn't completed for various reasons. Later (December 05), I sold all my n-gauge equipment and bought a small amount of HO, which I am currently playing around with, and when I have something to show for it, I'll include some detail.

Intres was primarily built as a small test layout with a basic track plan. The idea was to get used to some ideas about model railway construction and operation. I installed DCC in my locos and used electronic circuits to allow me to use one-button route setting. Information on the circuits I used and DCC conversions is available in the engineering section.

Scenically, Intres was loosely based on a border region of Switzerland, but construction started on Thalwil model railway shortly after I'd started the scenery and it never got completed.

Intres has now been dismantled. My construction pages have been left on the site for interest...

On these pages, you can see photos of my N scale trains. I've tried to write what I know about the models for each photo. At the very least, I've included a manufacturer and model number.
