New project - quick facts

The whole railway is the least permanent construction of all my layouts. All the track will be set track - clip together track elements. Therefore, I'm hoping, it won't need fastening down to the baseboard, which will be perfect. This will allow me to change the layout as I go along and extend or contract parts as appropriate. Even better, point motors I'll be using do not need cutting into the baseboard as I've had to do in the past for Peco point motors. So automated points can be used from the beginning without finalising where the points will go..
All I'm doing at this stage is an oval of track and two sidings.
I've now started work on the wooden framework for my new project. I've already planned this in great detail. It will be approximately 1400x2400mm or 4' something by 8' initially, although it is extendable in length by another 1500mm or about 5'. All the woodwork will be modular, so that at first, there will be the following
A 4 off 1200x400mm
B 2 off 400x400mm
C 1off 800x400mm.
Two sides of the layout are against the wall, so I've left gaps of 400x400mm (more than 1'x1') to be able to get in and do some installations. The baseboard can accommodate ovals of radius R2 to R6.
Current progress is that I've made two lots of 'A' (except for the plywood top) and am nearly there with another two lots of 'A'.
