Kanoula Beach Walk Map
Approximately 5.5 miles (3 hours) stopping for a drink and taking photos etc.
The walk starts on the main Neochori to Spartera road.
Park on the opposite side of the road just past a yellow house on the right, just before right hand junction where the walk starts from.
Leave the main Neochori road and turn right into side road and then immediately turn left off of the side road on to unmade road climbing uphill. Continue on this road bearing around to the left (ignoring a right turn). Then you take the next right (ignoring the road around to the left).
Soon you get views down to the sea.
Carry on down to reach the beach.Turn left along the beach, heading south, Continue along and paddle around the rocks (we had to take our boots and socks off but the
sea was only ankle deep).. Leave the beach further along at the road then after several metres turn left. Follow this track and then the path through the trees until you join a track. Here turn right and then at cross tracks turn left keeping to the main track bearing around to the right and passing several huts to the left. The track then becomes concrete and at the next junction it joins the track you walked on near the start. Here turn right passing a hut on the left in amongst the trees. Retrace the track back to the start.

Turn left along the main road towards Petriti and turn right at the sign to Aghios Nikolaos. Cross the bridge over the stream and then turn right at next track passing an industrial shed. After passing a small church on the right turn right down a track. Here there are views to the right of Kouspades and Hlomos on the top of the hill. The track becomes grass and goes between grape vines along the edge of a small field and across several small ditches. Kouspades - Hlomos church - Boukari Map
Approximately 6 miles (3 hours)
The walk starts in Kouspades village. The parking is limited here and so you may wish to start the walk from Boukari. It goes to Hlomos church with the fantastic views to the south and then onto the coastal road next to the sea to Boukari.
Turn right near the centre of the village by the Boukari Beach sign. Carry on up past the church bearing left then right passing the village square and the Doctors with the red cross sign, ignoring turns to the right and left. You then pass grape vines on the left. There are views to the sea on the right and the view of Hlomos on the hill in front, then you pass a small holding on the right.
At the next junction, if you wish, bear right for views of the coast and then retrace your steps and take the left fork straight on uphill. Ignore a track on the left and ignore a second track on the left descending into a concrete track which soon turns to a stone track, ignoring another track to the left. After 20 metres the track ends and here you take a faint path up through the olive trees following erratic red markers ( at one point there is a cross on a tree) and also following the line of a ditch on the right. Join the ditch where there is a blue marker on a stone, then a blue marker, a red one and red crosses. At the red crosses leave the ditch and follow the faint path on up. Shortly you come to a small clearing and here follow the path with a blue marker on your left. If you have a GPS your position should read at this point 39-27-27 and 019-57-49.
Ignoring a path to the left carry on going up path with fences on either side still following blue markers on stones. Pass a gate on the left and you soon pass a house on the right (GPS reading 39-27-26 and 019-57-34).
Here there are views behind of the sea and coastline. The path passes up between houses. Carry on up and bear right by an electric pole up steps, and then turn right by another electric pole, then left, then right again and keep going uphill to reach the road and Hlomos church. (It took us approximately 1 hour and 10 minutes to reach the church 900 feet above sea level.(GPS reading 39-27-30 and 019-57-28).
From the church turn left along the road and make your way down hill to the coast. Turn right on the coast road and follow this road along by the sea to Boukari. When you reach the small harbour turn right beside the Sunset Hotel and walk up the hill back to Kouspades.
