Training

We have been a Training Practice for about 15 years.
We train GPs, medical students, nurses, nurse
practitioners, health care assistants, along with
training for all administrative and support staff. We have been re-accredited for GP training more times than we care to remember and now have 3 accredited trainers in the practice as a whole.
Recently, we've started training Foundation Year Two doctors (doctors in the second year after qualifying) and are enjoying this tremendously.

The whole practice is involved in training and has a genuine desire to see the learner well supported and to thoroughly enjoy themselves. There's the usual library, there's soon to be a seminar room and there's a dedicated room for the GP Registrars.

The practice is fully computerised and has full NHSnet and Internet access. There is ready access to electronic information on the Practice Computer (EMIS) System.
We maintain full electronic records with a high standard of information. We have been using a computerised system since the 1980’s and have been “paper light” since 1994.

Although this is a Christian practice, in the same way that we would not impose our views on our patients, we don't impose our views on our Registrars or other learners either. It does make it a very warm, friendly place to work though.

Dr Murdoch has been a GP Trainer for about 15 years, Dr Prout (based at Rhyddings Surgery, Oswaldtwistle) has been a Trainer for about 3 years and Dr Dziobon was approved as a GP Trainer this year.
