Acetal Resin
Characteristics
Dental - D®
is a registered trademark and material
of Quattro Ti S.r.l. ,via Vittorio Veneto 34 , 22070 Rovello P., Italy.
Polyacetals belong to the category of plastics for
technical purposes. They exhibit remarkable dimensional stability , hardness ,
rigidity , mechanical strength , good toughness and resistance to chemical
agents , as well as a good anti-friction and wear performance and can so , in
many cases , be used as substitutes for metals.
density ,
1.41 g/cm3 up to 1.43 g/cm3
structure ,highly
crystaline thermoplastics with linear unbranched chains up to 75% of
crystallinity.
natural colour ,
matt white only due to their crystallinity. Can be coloured in all shades with a
good surface brightness.
mechanical
characteristics , high mechanical strength and rigidity with
good toughness , good wear resistance and a low sliding friction coefficient.
chemically resistant to
( selection ) , numerous organic substances such as alcohol ,
aldehyde , aster , ether , glycol , petrol , mineral oil , strong alkaline
solutions , and a good resistance to hydrolysis.
non-resistant to (
selection ) , oxidizing chemical agents and strong acids ( pH >4 ).Long
term usage in 65° C water is not possible.
physiological
behaviour , safe from the physiological viewpoint.
cracks due to internal
stress , in the open air virtually do not develop. As for
greater internal stress , cracks may develop in a few substances.
