The Cotswold Dental Laboratory can offer to the general public an emergency denture repair service. Most repairs to dentures can be achieved within about 2 hours. This service is available during the laboratories normal opening hours.
That is usually between the hours of 8.30am to 5.30pm Monday to Thursday and 8.30am to 2.00pm on Friday. Also now we can offer a return of post service, see below
Broken Denture*
You may be interested to know that most dentures when they break do so for a reason.
If the reason is that the denture has been dropped by accident, a simple repair should suffice.
If however the denture has broken while being worn in the mouth there will almost certainly be an underlying reason which needs to be addressed.
This may be that the denture is simply worn out (nothing lasts forever). It may be that the denture has become ill fitting due to the gum receding under the denture or the denture slightly warping out of shape over time.
If this is the case then I always recommend that the patient visit their dentist to have their dentures checked. This in fact should be done at regular intervals in any case, this is because the tissues in the mouth can be constantly changing along with the natural changes, weight loss or gain can also influence the change in dimension of the mouth tissues.
