Bishop Auckland are still stranded at the bottom of the table after losing at Brigg Town. They held their own until the 36th minute, when Gavin Bassinder beat John Mohan.
Michael Oliver and Paul Campbell combined in a promising move for Bishops, who were unable to penetrate a strong home defence, and when Brigg went two up 11 minutes into the second period, the visitors faced an uphill task.
Alex Allan was the second marksman and although manager Brian Healy introduced substitutes Danny Newby and Mark Sheeran six minutes later, the pair were unable to change the course of the game.
