Bishops battled hard in the first half and but for two saves from ex-Bishop Dale Roberts, on loan at Eastwood from Nottingham Forest, would surely have gone in ahead at half time.

On 33 minutes Barwick's low shot was turned past the post low down by Roberts. On 38 minutes the tireless Newby's lob was frantically turned over the bar.

2nd Half: Davison saves, but beware the rebound (c) FILMAR Photography
The second half proved to be too much for Bishops overworked players and they fell behind to a goal from Meikle on 60 minutes. Davison saved the initial shot but the rebound was turned back in and headed home from just in front of the goal-line.
Neither side created any more meaningful chances as the game ambled to a conclusion.
