Bishops lost at the Brewery Field for a second time this
season in a game which followed the same pattern as the encounter back in
August. Both teams featured weakened
sides, but Bishops was of necessity as Porter, Parkin,
In the opening few minutes Bishops created a couple of half
chances, but it was the Moors who almost grabbed the lead on eight minutes when
an error by Boynton allowed a shot which flew across rather than into the goal.
On 13 minutes a long throw from
Bishops were harshly punished after a good tackle from
Crager, and the resulting free-kick was knocked in for ex-Bishop Robinson to
grab the opening goal on 43 minutes.
The Two Blues team was further weakened with the departure
of Wilson and Mendum at half time, replaced by Rob Clarkson and Robert
Stewart. A second goal was added by the
franchise on 49 minutes.
Bishops should have been back in the game on 58 minutes when
Boynton crossed and Stewart headed against the bar from four yards with the
goal at his mercy.
As time progressed, the match broke down into an end to end
affair, as Bishops and Moors pressed on, but it was Moors who finished the
contest on 79 minutes when Matt Richardson scored. Clarkson crossed for Evans to chest the ball
down and finish well on 80 minutes to make the score 3-1.
The home side fired another goal down the hill after 90
minutes to make the scoreline a flattering 4-1.
