Bishop Auckland 0 : Durham City 7

Team:  Chris Porter, Paul Griffith, Paul Harvey, Paul Crager, Jason Newall, Scott Richards, Bryan Stewart (Rob Stewart 22mins), Robbie Clarkson, Daryll Evans (Craig Winter 89mins), Joe Fairish, Dominic Gamble

Bishops crashed to a humiliating defeat at home to Durham City which ultimately marked the end of manager Peter Mulcaster’s tenure at the club.

The home side started well enough when Bryan Stewart hit the bar on 11 minutes, but soon after Stewart suffered an injury and was off the field receiving treatment when Durham took the lead on 19 minutes.  A low cross was tapped in from close range.

Rob Stewart replaced his brother on 22 minutes and a minute later it was 2-0 when Crager deflected a weak shot past Porter.   A long range shot on 28 minutes went in over Porter to make it 3-0.  It was clearly going to be a long night.

Jamie Clarke tapped in another easy goal on 36 minutes to make it 4-0 at half time.

It was clearly not going to be Bishops night as Griffith hit the post on 49 minutes.  Durham added two more in quick succession to make it 6-0 inside the hour.

Bishops hit the post again, twice, before a late long range lob in injury time made it 7-0.   Manager Peter Mulcaster resigned immedatiely following the game.
