New Manager Colin Myers first game in charge,
and at the third attempt Bishops played at Bedlington Terriers. 18-year-old Callum Proudlock made his debut in
goal after sitting on the bench for several matches recently, and Paul Moss
returned to the side after five months away.
The match was only possible following the hard work of volunteers who
helped to make the pitch playable, and the Northumberland club were rewarded
with crowd of around the 50 mark.
Bishops were first to threaten with a shot against the post
early in the first half. Soon after,
Bedlington had a goal disallowed when Nicholson scored from an offside
position.
Bedlington took the lead on 29 minutes when a Hardman error let
McAlindon cross for
The home side doubled their lead when Phillipson hit a
speculative long range effort which flew in the top corner on 48 minutes.
Bishops came more into the game after that and hit the woodwork
again, then had a Gavin Parkin attempt well saved by Powell. Bedlington added a flattering third two
minutes from time when Nicholson fired in from long range.
