Bishops welcomed back Stephen Salvin and Simon Ord after missing Saturday, and both took their places in the starting line up on a bright clear night at Tow Law for this re-played fixture.

A quiet start to the game and it wasn’t until the 18th minute that either side created a dangerous chance.  Salvin won the ball on the half way line and prodded it through to Strong who cut the ball out to the left for Emson who raced to the line before crossing the ball to Gredziak who stooped to head the ball over the bar.

Luke Parkinson came close on 27 minutes for Town as he beat the offside trap but Jeffries saved well.

Two minutes later and a flowing moved ended with Jeffries tipping another goalbound effort over the bar.  From the resulting corner Jeffries pulled off another fine save to punch the ball wide.

Bishops came more into the game and on 38 minutes a corner was won.  Blackett’s flag kick was cleared to Emson 25 yards from goal and he volleyed just wide, although Poskett probably had this one covered.

A minute later and a quick break ended with Ord who shot wide from 25 yards.

Just seconds later and another break saw Emson racing to the right of goal.  A scuffed shot looped to Gredziak but he headed straight into Poskett’s hands.

Just before half time and Strong broke quickly but his snapshot from 30 yards flew well wide.

Half Time Score – Tow Law Town 0  Bishop Auckland 0

Bishops opened the scoring on 52 minutes.  Adam Strong was shoved to the ground 35 yards from goal.  The free kick was flick headed to the far post by Salvin and although Arjun Purewal’s header was parried to Emson who forced the ball home from six yards.

Both sides struggled to string too many passes together on another bouncy bobbling surface but Bishops were dominating possession.

Joe Grant replaced Steven Turnbull on 62 minutes and Darren Richardson replaced Adam Strong on 69 minutes.

Joe Grant should have doubled the lead on 76 minutes.  Pushed through clear on a one on one the midfielder mis-hit his shot yards wide, and his goal drought extends to 54 games.

Jeffries made another good save low to the near post on 79 minutes.

82 minutes and Blackett crossed the ball to Gredziak who dummied it but Darren Richardson was just beaten to the ball by Poskett.

Harry Drummond replaced Simon Ord on 83 minutes.

Bishops almost scored again on 87 minutes when Emson’s low cross bobbled about in the area but the ball was eventually cleared.

Another win for Bishops and with other results going in our favour a lift up the table to 10th place.
