Another last minute winner but this time in Bishops favour as Darren Richardson shot home from an Adam Emson cross to give Bishops a 4-3 win. Behind early, Steven Turnbull equalised from the penalty spot. Richardson put Bishops back ahead briefly. Paul Crager gave Bishops the lead again with a volleyed own goal before another equaliser before Bishops late winner.

Bishop Auckland’s first planned match at the new ground will be against Middlesbrough FC on Tuesday 2nd November. Tickets will be available for advance purchase very soon. Prices will be £5 for adults and £2.50 for concessions.

Bishop Auckland played a blinder at Bay with Arran Wearmouth giving Bishops the lead on the hour before a dubious penalty and a goalmouth scramble in injury time gave Bay another lucky win.

BISHOPS FIGHT BACK FOR SHIELDS POINT
A disappointing first half with South Shields taking the lead just after Adam Emson had hit the post. Shields hit the post twice before the interval. Adam Emson equalised early in the second half and after Bishops dominated but failed to add to their total Peter Jeffries made a good save at the death to keep the scores level. 1-1.

Bishops time at West Auckland is officially over ! Matches against Whitley Bay and Stokesley have been swapped, which means that Sunday was Bishops final away “home” game after 8½ years on the road.

YELLOW FEVER OUTBREAK AT CENTRAL AVENUE
Bishops were subjected to a rash of yellow fever, with only four players making it to the end without receiving a dose from the referee who laid down the law with consistent irregularity. Synthonia profited from a penalty just before the hour mark which won them the game. Arran Wearmouth received a double dose, leaving Bishops with ten men for the final 15 minutes.

TEN MAN SYNTHONIA MAKE BISHOPS PAY PENALTY
A controversial 120th minute penalty gave Billingham Synthonia passage to the second round of the FA Vase at Bishop Auckland’s expense. Bishops led twice in normal time but needed an Emson strike to get them level at 3-3 deep into extra time before the match was cruelly snatched away.

ROOFING COLLAPSE AT HANDS OF BISHOPS
Bishop Auckland recorded a comfortable victory over Jarrow Roofing Boldon CA winning 3-1. Arran Wearmouth opened the scoring and the fit again Adam Emson scored in each half as Bishops dominated the game for a first home league win of the season.

BISHOPS PROGRESS IN COUNTY CUP
A severely depleted Bishop Auckland comfortably overcame Wearside League side Darlington Cleveland Bridge 3-0 in the Durham Challenge Cup preliminary round. Darren Richardson scored early and Stephen Salvin and Arran Wearmouth added the late goals.

left the club and heads to Australia, and Joe Grant
has relocated to continue his studies. Bishop Auckland FC wish

STOKESLEY HUMILIATE DISMAL BISHOPS
Bishop Auckland crashed out of the league cup 5-1 despite Arran Wearmouth giving the Bishops the lead in only the second minute. A Bishops team weakened by injuries, unavailability and no-shows slumped to concede a series of sloppy goals after missing a string of first half chances which should have been enough to secure the tie.

LAUNCH
Alan Adamthwaite’s new book about Bob Hardisty will be launched at an event at Bishop Auckland Town Hall on Wednesday evening. The book, priced £18, will be available to purchase at the club shop for the first time at Sunday’s game.

RYTON REVENGE IN EIGHT GOAL THRILLER
Bishops exacted some revenge for last season’s thrashing with a spectacular 5-3 victory. Turnbull opened the scoring from the spot before Gredziak and Salvin added goals before half time. Ryton pulled back to 3-2 before Strong scored. Ryton scored again for 4-3 but Gredziak settled the nerves.

TERRIERS BITE BISHOPS IN THE RAIN
A frantic first half with Bishops missing chances before Bedlington took the lead. Bishops equalised but Bedlington led again just before half time and added two more, the second from the spot, in a soaking second half at Darlington Road.

BISHOPS EASE THROUGH FIRST VASE TEST
Bishops will play Chester le Street Town in the FA Vase in a fortnight after beating Willington 3-0. Chris Lawson opened the scoring midway through the first half before Adam Strong and Wayne Gredziak scored in the second half.

BISHOPS EXIT CUP WITH OFFICIAL CONSENT
Bishop Auckland were beaten 3-1 last night in the FA Cup with two crucial
decisions going against the two blues. The first a penalty after an up and down performance by the
linesman. Bay added a second but
just after Gredziak pulled Bishops back into the game the referee incorrectly
overruled an offside decision by the linesman to award Bay a crucial third.

football ground, stand and lounge will be completed in early October 2010 and
will be a fantastic facility for the Club and the Town.

BISHOPS DENIED VICTORY BY
LATE STRIKE
A controversial last
minute equaliser after ‘keeper Peter Jeffries had the ball dislodged from his
hands by a well timed shove gave Whitley Bay a draw
at Darlington Road. Former Bishop Brian
Rowe gave Bishops the lead with an expertly headed own goal and Wayne Gredziak
doubled the lead, but Bay hit back in the second half with a penalty and the
late strike. Replay Tuesday.

three wins from three midweeks as they brushed aside Sunderland RCA. Simon Ord scored
very early and Adam Emson added a second inside 15 minutes. Darren Richardson added a third late in the
game.

It’s taken a while
but the day finally arrived last week when the bulk of the Supporters’ Stadium
Fund was handed over to the football club.
A cheque for £14,000 was handed over to contribute to the fit out of the
first floor function room. The money
will pay for the bar fixtures & fittings, flooring and the TV system. Massive thanks to everyone who has
contributed over recent years.
Ground development will continue, so the fund continues - keep contributing !!

BISHOPS WELL BEATEN AT
DUNSTON
Bishops failed to
beat Dunston FB/Federation/UTS for the ninth time in
the Northern League, going behind midway through the first half. A second early in the second half after a
Jeffries penalty save and a third on the hour made the game safe. Gavin Barton scored an injury time
consolation to maintain his goal a game record.

CONSETT BEATEN IN ANOTHER
ROLLERCOASTER RIDE
Bishops raced into a
2-0 lead with Chris Lawson and Stephen Salvin scoring, but the game swung after
Adam Emson had missed a penalty and Consett scored twice before half time to
make the tie level once again.
Substitute Gavin Barton scored the winning goal early in the second half
and Bishops held on to move through to the Preliminary Round. Whitley Bay await a
week on Saturday.

SIX GOAL THRILLER OPENS FA

Bishops lead twice
as Consett and Bishop Auckland shared six goals on a sunny Sunday. Barton opened the scoring before Consett
equalised then took the lead early in the second half. Gredziak equalised and Strong gave Bishops
the lead before Consett pulled level again to earn the replay on Wednesday
night.

the fifth annual 26 mile Trek took in Tow Law Town, Wolsingham, Hamsterley
Forest, Woodland, Butterknowle, Cockfield, Evenwood Town, West Auckland Town
and Tindale Crescent.

BAFC LTD SHARE ISSUE
Bishop Auckland FC
Ltd was formed in 1996 with an initial 100,000 shares in the club. However, with this initial share issue
approaching a sold out position, the shareholders of BAFC voted in favour of a
board resolution to increase the club’s share capital at the AGM last July.
The share issue is
open to the general public. The club is
looking to extend share ownership amongst our supporters and the local
community and to attract new investors to the club at this exciting time in the
club’s development. Shares are available
in multiples of £50 by contacting the club via the website. Mail me for more
