Won both 1st and 2nd division Northern league titles
as a player with Durham City and Brandon United respectively, as well as a
Durham Challenge Cup winners medal and Northern League cup finalists medal
before retiring in 2002. After retiring from
playing in 2002. He joined the management team at Brandon United as Assistant
Manager to Kenny Lindoe which resulted in winning
both 1st and 2nd division Northern league titles as well as two consecutive
Durham Challenge cup final appearances. In 2004 joined Jarrow
Roofing and helped guide them to the semi-final of the FA Vase in 2005 losing
to eventual winners Didcot Town. In 2006 returned to Brandon United as
Manager and guided them to eventual safety in the 2nd division with no
resources when it looked inevitable that they would be relegated from the Northern
League. He joined Shildon
AFC in
January 2008 as first team coach which coincided with a 16 game unbeaten run
and a League Cup Final appearance.
Appointed as Manager of
Bishop Auckland in February 2009 and steered the Club away from bottom
position to 18th at season’s end. Led the team to 13th
place in his first full season of 2009/10. |

Steven West Assistant
Manager Has had numerous spells
at the Club the last of which was in 2005-06 before re-joining midway through
2008-09 season. Along with Stephen Salvin is one of only two
players to have played for the Club at Kingsway, Dean Street, Brewery Field
and Darlington Road. He has amassed over 250
appearances for the club and around 20 goals. Joined the management team
for the 2009-10 season |

Graham Carter First Team Coach Former professional with
Newcastle United, Graham has bags of Northern League experience playing for
Blue Star and Brandon United. Was Assistant manager to
Colin Myers at Brandon and has been brought in to the management team for the
2010-11 season |

David Hopwood – Physio David
is a newly qualified physio after completing a
course in Sports Rehabilitation at New College Durham. Worked
with Newton Aycliffe FC last season as part of his work experience and has
been brought in for the 2010-11 season. |

Michael Walker Kit Man Has
been Bishops Kit man for the past 7 seasons. He is the unsung hero of the
backroom staff as Michael ensures that the players have everything they need
and more. Made
a couple of UniBond league substitute appearances
in 2005/6. |

Thomas Blackett Defence Burst
into the team in March 2010 from the highly successful New College Durham Football
Academy and made a real reputation for himself in 15
appearances. Signed
on contract in May 2010 after attracting the attention of numerous
football league clubs. Left
for Australia in September. |

Wayne Clarke Defence Former
professional with Darlington FC, before spending 3 seasons with Shildon AFC. Signed
on loan from Shildon in October 2009, with the signing being made
permanent in December.

Adam Emson Attack Signed from Consett in October 2009. Previously
with Shildon and was the
Railwaymen's top goal scorer in 2006-7 season. Hit the net
immediately and became Bishops first 20 goal a season player for nine
seasons. Ended with
26 goals from 29 appearances.
Joint
second top scorer in the Northern League in 2009/10 with 30 goals. |

Joe Grant Defence DoB: 25/6/92 “Little Salla” was Colin Myers’ first
signing, arriving in February 2009 from Sunderland AFC academy. Won ‘Young Player Of The
Year’ award for 2008-09 after 20 appearances in the season. 38 appearances in
2009/10 and opened his scoring account at Dunston UTS late in the season. |

Mark Henson Defence DoB: 16/3/89 Signed towards the end
of the 2008-09 season. Previously with Sunderland
AFC and Durham City.
Scored a spectacular
hat-trick to secure the club’s first division status at Northallerton Town in late April and
another to win an FA Cup tie at Hebburn early last season. Picked up a season
ending injury late in October and spent the rest of the season recovering
from an operation to repair this damage.

John Signed
in the Summer of 2010. Former
professional with Sheffield Wednesday rubbing shoulders with the likes of
Paulo di Canio and Carlton Palmer.
Gained International honours with England U18’s playing alongside John Terry.
John
is the consummate professional as well as an outstanding player. Previous
Clubs - Sheffield Wednesday, Blyth Spartans, Durham City, Spennymoor & Shildon.

from Wearside League Hartlepool Town
in 2008 and made the goalkeeping position his own after the arrival of Colin
Myers. Started 2009-10 with a
string of Man of the Match performances and kept in superb form throughout
the season. 46 starts in goal last season
plus a five minute run out as centre forward. Swept the board at the
end of 2009/0 season presentation evening picking up Supporters’, Players’,
Management Team and Website player of the year. |

Chris Lawson Defence Signed
in the summer of 2009/10 from local football making his debut on 8th
August 2009. His first goal was a last
minute winner against Esh Winning in December 2009. Settled
into a right back role making 32 appearances before a late season injury. Some
outstanding performances last season have seen him appointed as Vice Captain. . |

Simon Ord Midfield Signed from Shildon in September 2009. Fitted into the centre
of midfield, but also helped out when required at left full back. 31 appearances and three
goals including a spectacular 25 yard match winner against league champions Spennymoor Town last season |

Darren Richardson Midfield DoB: 25/11/88 Fourth season at the
Club and Young Player of the Year for 2007-08. Previously at Bishop
Auckland St. Mary’s and local football.
23 appearances and four
goals in 2008/9 season.
2009/10 season
interrupted with a pre-Christmas injury, but still made 27 appearances, many
from the substitute’s bench. Scored five more goals in the season to
take him up to 15 for the club. |

First played for the
Club in season 2001-02 before returning the following season. Played a significant part
in the 2003-04 and 2004-05 campaigns, winning all 4 BAFC end of season
Players Awards in the latter. Left in the Autumn of
2005 to join Newcastle Blue Star winning the Northern League and Cup double
before moving to Gateshead. Then followed a return to Newcastle Blue Star
before a move back to Bishops’. Alongside Steven West is
one of only two players to have played for the Club at Kingsway, Dean Street,
Brewery Field and Darlington Road. Won the BAFC Website
player of the year award for season 2008-09. 46 appearances and 11 goals in 2009/10 and closing in on 200
appearances for the club. |

Adam Strong Midfield DoB: 27/10/90 Third season
at the club. Another
product of the highly successful New College Durham football academy. First goal
for the club in the 3-1 against Billingham Town in early October. 28
appearances in 2008/9 with 21 as a substitute and four goals. 29
appearances in 2009/10 with 10 as a substitute and three goals. |

Craig Toman Midfield Nephew of former
Bishops’ legend Andy Toman. Has previous Northern
League experience with Northallerton. Signed for the 2010-11
season after some impressive pre season

Steven Turnbull Midfield Signed in January 2010 from
New College Durham Football Academy, picking up a series of appearances both
in the centre of midfield and at right back. 18 appearances in the
season, with four goals including two last minute point winning penalties on
consecutive Saturdays against Norton & Stockton and Dunston UTS. |

18 year old forward
signed in the Summer of 2010 after being released from Middlesbrough where he
was a trainee scoring over 30 goals in his first season. Big, strong and very
quick attacking player with a very good eye for goal. He played for Riverside
U18’s in last season’s County cup final after his release and scored a hat-trick helping them to
victory. |
