A series of photographs taken in about 1988 and originally colour prints. They were taken by various people as the outfit's layers were explored in a cat-walk costume competition. Whilst the photographic quality is not of the best this series does demonstrate the hidden layers a lady going to the Venetian Carnival would have worn to get the silhouette seen in paintings and prints of the times.
[I have since learned that this headdress is incorrect. This is one of the interesting things about historic costume making - there is always something new to learn.]
The carnival continues.
