IMPORTANT
ANNOUNCEMENT
This web site is moving.
From 11 Sept 2006 this site will no longer be available via www.csl-philosophy.co.uk.
Assuming I can get
myself sorted, it should soon appear at www.annotations.co.uk. In the
meantime, you will still be able to access my work at http://myweb.tiscali.co.uk/CSLphilos.
The email links at the
top of my pages will also cease to work correctly. If you would like to
contact me, please use the address steve[at]annotations.co.uk … only replace the part in square
brackets with an @ sign.
The basic idea behind
this site that the work of C.S. Lewis is a rich source of philosophical
ideas and arguments, many of which deserve exploration from contemporary philosophers.
In fact, this was also the idea behind my recently doctoral studies
completed in 2003, of which a summary and extracts are available on-site.
Visitors are free to request copies of any work from my PhD that does not
appear on site here.
Due to my interest in
mathematics, apologetics and the philosophy of religion, I’ve also included
some of my less technical work in these areas.
To find out more, just
follow the links …
I would also like to
take this opportunity to advertise the recently published book The
Chronicles of Narnia and Philosophy, published
as part of Open Court’s
highly successful Popular Culture and Philosophy series. Other titles in
the series include The Simpsons and Philosophy,
The Matrix and Philosophy, and The Lord of the Rings and
Philosophy. The book was edited by Jerry Walls and Gregory Bassham, who
also kindly invited me to contribute a chapter. Needless to say, I accepted
the invitation.
If you like this site or
find it helpful (or less helpful than it could be), then please let me know
… I’d love to hear from you.
