NEW ACCESSIBLE BUS SERVICE No 809

SERVICE STARTS ON WEDNESDAY 16TH MAY 2001.

THIS SERVICE WILL OPERATE EVERY WEDNESDAY

Departing Hexham Bus Station at 09.18 a.m. The last run from Albermarle Barracks will be at l4.23 p.m. arriving back at Hexham at l6.l3 p.m.

THIS SERVICE IS WHEELCHAIR ACCESSIBLE

Deviations are possible with twenty four hours notice to collect those, who because of restricted mobility cannot make it to a bus stop.

This service is designed for people with disabilities and the general public.

A.D.A.P.T. operate a pre-booked, door to door transport scheme aimed at providing accessible transport to people with disabilities and those who are elderly living in Tynedale, Ponteland and Scots Gap areas of Northumberland.

As well as providing a regular service for people wishing to attend day centres, colleges and support groups, it is also available to groups of people with disabilities wishing to access goods and services and educational outings.

Groups and individuals can join the scheme by completing a registration form. To book a vehicle and driver groups complete booking forms which must be sent to the Transport Co-ordinator, 7 days in advance of travel. Telephone bookings are accepted but must be confirmed by a completed booking form.

All transport provided is based O.60 p per mile rate for accessible minibuses and O.45p per mile for accessible people carriers.
