Rugby Holiday Camps

 

CTI Sportservices offers Rugby Camps for youngsters during the Easter, summer and October holidays. The camps are held at Rugby Clubs and take place over 3 half days (Approximately 7½ hours). Youngster’s are split into age groups and work on a ratio of 1:10 with a qualified coach. The youngsters programme of activities is varied, fun and game orientated (A description of a typical camp programme for Mini’s 7-12, is outlined below). Each player will receive a report on their ability and effort at the end of the camp. A copy of this report will be sent to the player’s club or school.

 

There are approximately 8 camps each holiday aimed at mini players at the moment, however camps for midi’s will be developed in the future. Details of venues, times, how to apply and costs will be posted on the website news page or alternatively phone 07738 420 737 for an application form. Camps are normally limited to 50 players.

 

All coaches and camp co-ordinator have been through the Disclosure Scotland process and the course co-ordinator is first-aid qualified. CTI Sportservices follows the ‘Long term player development’ programme in its development of young rugby players.

 

Mini Rugby Camp 3 Day Programme:

Conditions of enrolment:

o       Confirmation of enrolment will be sent to a camp member on receipt of application and camp fee.

o       Application is accepted on a first come, first serve basis.

o       CTI Sportservices reserves the right to cancel or amend the camp. In this event all camp fees will be refunded.

o       Personal property is the responsibility of each individual.

o       The camp members agree to abide by the rules laid down by the camp co-ordinator.

Training – Team Building/Leadership/Motivation

 

CTI Sportservices offers a variety of services in this area to a wide range of businesses, Local Authorities, Education, Governing Bodies and Sports Clubs. Colin Ireland and his colleague Graham Kilgour organise and deliver the following training opportunities:

 

1.      Motivation – Whether it is on the field of play, the office or any working environment, being motivated to achieve is vital for success both for the individual and the team/business. CTI Sportservices will take any size of group through a variety of exercises and presentations to enhance understanding of motivation and how to achieve it.

 

2.      Leadership – For any level of manager, captain, coach or individual leadership skills and qualities are essential to success and efficiency. CTI Sportservices takes groups and individuals through a range of activities to build up an appreciation of leadership and how it can be better used in the workplace or sports field.

 

3.      Influencing – Dealing with staff, team mates, your boss or manager can sometimes be very frustrating. CTI Sportservices will take groups through different situations that are relevant to the workplace or sports field. Participants will learn how to deal better with difficult individuals, customers and situations, turning these situations into a win-win outcome.

 

4.      Impression building – This area deals with making an immediate impression on colleagues, staff, players, coaches, managers. The programme looks at do’s and don’ts in a variety of situations and circumstances and then deals with how to build on the good impression achieved.

 

5.      Team Building – The programme for team building uses much of the qualities outlined above, but concentrates more on working with partners, groups, both big and small. The participants are challenged to work together in a range of ways, with the positive learning outcomes of team building being brought out from the group.

 

The programme is very flexible depending on the size of group, the needs of the group, the experience of the group and what the agreed focus is on. CTI Sportservices tailors the programme to suit the background of the customer, so that it is very relevant to the workplace or sport.

Provision of Coaches:

 

CTI Sportservices employs and trains a wide variety of coaches at various levels. All coaches have been through an induction course with CTI Sportservices and completed Disclosure Scotland. All coaches have the minimum governing body qualification in their relevant activity/sport, with many on higher qualification levels. Several of the coaches are currently training to teach Physical Education. Coaches are available for the following activities, during school curriculum time and at extra- curricular times including week-ends and holidays. ·        Rugby – Coaches are qualified at Level 1/Foundation, with several achieving Level 2 Children and Level 2 step 1 Adult. Coaches are available to coach New Image, Tag Rugby, Mini Rugby and S1-S6. Many of the Coaches also have referee qualifications and are available to referee.

 

·        For Volleyball – Basketball –Football –Hockey –Netball –Athletics –Cricket. Contact CTI Sportservices.

 

 

Various Courses:

 

 

CTI Sportservices offers all sports coaches, Physical Education teachers a wide variety of courses to enhance knowledge and delivery of specialist areas that will greatly benefit athletes in what ever activity they participate in. ·        British Amateur Weight Lifting Association – Various courses for all levels. Candidates receive training into how to safely introduce and develop strength training for age ranges P6 – adult. Every athlete greatly benefits, no matter what sport from being fitter and stronger. (Course length is 2 days) (Please contact Colin Ireland regarding cost per candidate)

 

·        XLR8 Multi Directional Speed Power & Agility – CTI Sportservices offers courses on XLR8. These areas are crucial in developing all levels of athlete/player. ·        Visual/Scanning Skills – This is a new course specifically aimed at team sports, where vision is key to achieving a high level of skill. Candidates are taken through a variety of practices and games that improve visual scanning ability and thus improve decision making. (Course length is a ½ day) (£40 per candidate)

 

·        Game Sense – A new Course developing coaches and teachers in the methods of delivering their coaching/teaching through games and game related practice, rather than a drill orientated session. Candidates are shown practical and video examples from several sports to highlight this approach. Courses can be run for a single sport or a mixed group. (Course length is 5 hrs) (£50 per candidate)

 

·        First Aid Course – A one day First aid course is available to coaches/teachers/helpers. Candidates go through essential First aid skills, with the theme of sport used to demonstrate and practice. Candidates receive a St Andrew’s certificate. (£75 per candidate)

 

·        Fundamental Movement Skills – A 3 hour course examining the fundamental movement skills needed by all children for an active life. This course sets out the foundation building blocks that are crucial to achieving efficient and co-ordinated movement in later childhood and adulthood. The course identifies developed and undeveloped motor skills, poses questions for the candidates and asks them to identify key points. All candidates will through practical tasks become more aware and able to assist youngsters achieve more efficient movement and body awareness in whatever sport they participate in. (£40 per candidate)

 

 

 

 Rugby Services

 

 

·        Position Specific Sessions – Sessions can be organised at schools or clubs for specific positions – Scrum half’s, hookers, props, Stand off’s and Full back’s. A specialist coach will take up to a maximum of 4 players for a single position, with the session lasting 1½ hours. Players will be assessed and given an action plan to work on after the session. (£140 per session)

 

·        Backline Organisation – Colin Ireland offers a unique service to clubs and schools in ensuring from set piece, the backline understands what it is trying to achieve, both in attack and defence (S1 – Adult). Colin will watch a game to assess the players, then at the session will take the players through practical game related practice, outlining strengths and weaknesses and planning how to help the weaknesses and develop the strengths. Each club or school will receive a written report on the session and an action plan to put in place. The session will last approximately 1½ hours. Colin Ireland has a vast experience of coaching backs having coached Glasgow U18, U19, Scotland U18A, Glasgow Hawks 1st XV and the Swedish National team. (£150 per session)

 

·        Fitness programmes – CTI Sportservices has organised a fitness service for clubs and schools. The package includes a fitness assessment for 1st team squad (25 players), followed by a fitness programme for these players to follow over a 6 week period. The first session of the programme is delivered by the specialist. Players are then re-assessed after the 6 week programme and a further programme of work is developed based on the results.  Strategic Planning and Implementation

 

 

CTI Sportservices offers Businesses, Governing bodies, Local Authorities, Sports Clubs and Educational establishments a Strategic Planning and Implementation service. CTI Sportservice will take organisations through the process of creating a vision and how to work on a road map to achieve the vision. A clear path and sense of purpose in a workable plan which is understood by all involved. Through improvement an effective strategy will guide people in where they should focus their time, energy and resources, so that they can best add value. CTI Sportservices will lead and facilitate organisations through the process of implementation and change.

 

CTI Sportservices also offers a wide variety of services to assist in the implementation of strategy change, pilot schemes, creating/facilitating partnerships, setting and measuring targets, and guidance in any planning process.
