Your first lesson at our club is free. We have a one off club registration fee, this costs:- £20 for Students in full time education £25 16+ Training then costs, per lesson £5 Special joining offers and fees apply from time to time. Children aged between 7 and 8 years will be assessed on general ability to see if they can continue to train. We reserve the right to ban anyone from our lessons if they do not follow instructions or if they are disruptive to the rest of the class, as this can be dangerous . You also need to be a member of the Karate Union of Great Britain, to grade and for insurance reasons 2010:- first year:- under 16 £22 16 and over £25 subsequent years (2010) £17 £18 you must hold the KUGB licence and train for at least 2 months before your first grading. and train regularly for 3 months between gradings, (6 months brown to black). gradings are held every three months in Tiverton cost approx £17, this includes a hour and half training lesson with Sensei sherry 8th Dan
belts from £2.50 Karate suits 'Gi' from about £15, you can buy them from us or any Martial Arts shop.
in the interest of safety we request that you do not have long nails. jewellery should not be worn during training, if it is not removed it must be covered. any unseen jewellery is worn at your own risk. Your instructor is referred to as Sensei, the Hall we train in is called the Dojo, as part of the Shotokan Karate etiquette you are expected to bow to the instructor, and the hall on entering and leaving it. please remember that Karate is not a game, we encourage you to practice but it should not be 'played' or practiced in school!
