AtoB online is an add-on to the AtoB system and enables customers and agents to book airport transfers through the internet.
Customers (general public)
The customer makes the booking in a secure environment (over https). The booking is entered directly into your system and payment for the job is made directly to your bank account. The customer is affectively reducing your work load by making the booking without you having to take any action. You are paid for the job in advance.
Agents (companies, individuals external to your organisation who is authorised to take bookings)
The agent makes the booking in a secure environment (over https). The booking is entered directly into your system. The difference between the agent and the customer booking is that tha gent has an account with yourself which is settled at predefined periods (e.g. monthly). Therefore the agent does not pay for the booking online, instead the system keeps track of what bookings the agent has taken and will produce an invoice when requested to do so. This is achieved by giving each agent a login.
General
After an agent or customer has booked a job over the internet an email is sent to them confirming their booking with details of the journey. They are also given the opportunity to print out the job for future reference.
The system allows you to stop internet booking for certain dates (e.g. holidays, or you have reached maximum capacity for that day).
You may restrict the latest date prior to the journey that a booking may be taken over the internet.
Certain jobs that are odd (e.g. a late booking) cause the system to send an email to yourself allowing you to take the appropriate action.
Security
All internet bookings are made over a secure encrypted link (using https, SSL), this ensures customers details will not be exposed to any third parties.
System requirements
The application is operating system independent running on most operating systems, some of which include Windows (XP, 2000), Linux / Unix variants including Mac OS X. The server system can be a fairly moderately specified system and can be bought off the shelf from any PC store. It is necessary that you have a fast internet link (e.g. standard ADSL) to your office with a static IP (easily obtained from most ISPs).
You can run a demo version of the system by clicking on the image below.
