Welcome to the Sci Fi Freak Site, a site run by fans of science fiction films and television shows for fans of science fiction films and television shows. This is not an information site full of dry lists of actors, directors, writers, teaboys and gaffers (whatever they may be) that tell you nothing - there are professional sites filled to the brim with that kind of information. This is a site in which every sci-fi film has been watched by the contributors and an honest opinion given on both its merits and its faults. Where possible, every episode of every sci-fi TV show listed here has been watched by the contributors and individually reviewed in terms of its standalone value and its place within the context of the wider series, franchise and science fiction genre as a whole. We're based in the UK so it's only shows that are shown in the UK as they are shown in the UK that get reviewed. If a show gets shelved halfway through, then we can't review the rest, so there might be a few gaps here or there, but we start reviewing each show with the intention of seeing it all the way through. As there is far too much science fiction on TV at the moment (and aren't we glad of that) we can't possibly cover it all, so we try to cover what we think are the important and popular new series as well as some of the classics that come our way (thank you ITV4) plus the occasional DVD release that the various PR companies and studios send us from time to time. All the reviews are made by honest sci-fi fans with no agenda and no-one to please. That's what the Sci Fi Freak Site is all about - the honest opinions of lifelong science fiction fans. As with all honest opinions, we're sure that you'll disagree. Please let us know. If we think that your judgement is well enough argued we'll put it up alongside our own. Also, if your favourite show or film isn't represented and you would like to submit it for inclusion take a look at some of the reviews here to get a sense for our style (or lack of it) and submit a couple of example reviews through the e-mail address scififreak@tiscali.co.uk. If we like them we might ask for a full set to go onto the site. In the meantime, we hope that you will enjoy the site which is currently covering science fiction movies like the astonishing THE DARK KNIGHT, beautiful HELLBOY 2 THE GOLDEN ARMY, new STAR WARS animated feature THE CLONE WARS, Brendan Fraser double MUMMY 3:TOMB OF THE DRAGON EMPEROR and JOURNEY TO THE CENTER OF THE EARTH, Pixar's latest wonder cartoon WALL-E, The execrable so-called comedy DISASTER MOVIE and Vin Diesel's return to sci-fi action BABYLON AD. On the small screen we have the likes of the ongoing reboot to DOCTOR WHO, new post-apocalypse spy series SPOOKS CODE 9, afterlife drama in THE GHOST WHISPERER, and recent series of worldwide phenomenon LOST, laid back slacker series REAPER and also HEROES. 'Live long and prosper' as a non-human once said. Home |
