League Rules
- The
League shall be called “The Rugeley And District Monday Night Darts League” Plus
Sponsors Name.
- The
League shall be governed by a Chairman, Treasurer/Secretary and Executive Members.
- Only
one vote will be allowed for one representative of each team at an A.G.M. or
any other relevant league meetings
- The
Annual Fee shall be £30, payable at the first meeting. £5 Match Fees to be
paid weekly. There will also be a £5 Fee for the Team Cup Competition. Each
registered player to pay £2 signing on fee.
- A
Team shall consist of enough players to win a match.
- The
results of the Matches to be counted on games won as a team. Team Captains
must not sign match cards until filled in and checked. The results on the
official card will be final. Cards to be filled in with ink or ballpoint pen
in block capitals.
- The
board shall be 5ft 8ins from the floor to the centre and the throw or toe
line 7ft 6ins in a plumb line as near as possible from the face of the board
and measured along the floor.
- The
throw line shall be permanently shown in some distinctive manner (Chalk is
not sufficient) and shall be not less than 2ft long. The line must be toed,
not trodden on or stood upon on. A player may move along it as far as he
likes.
- Each
player shall have 3 darts.
- Matches
shall consist of 6 individual games of 301 up, nominated double to start, double
to finish, best of 3 legs and 2 pairs games of 501, nominated double to start,
double to finish, best of 3 legs. Visitors
to throw for double first in the first leg. In the second leg the home team to start.
If a third game is required the visitor is to throw for their double first.
In Cup matches the visitors to Bull up for first leg only. Nearest to bull
to throw first in first and third legs.
- All
games should have a Marker provided by the Home team and a Checker by the
Away team.
- The
Draw. A "Blind draw" will be made for the first 6 players for the
Home team, the players names written down and then a "Blind draw"
for the Away team for their first 6 players. After the 6th
match another "Blind draw" will be made for both teams, as for the
singles, to select both the positions and partners for the two doubles
games.
- At
the start of the match the two Captains will play 301 best of 3
nominated double start. This will form a Captains League Table separate from the main
league. In the event of points tied at the end of the season the table will
go on most 2-0 wins.
- The
exact number must be obtained and if a player obtains more than the
requisite number with any of his darts the score shall not count and he
shall throw for the original number required with his next 3 darts.
- If
a dart falls out before the announcer calls the score it does not count.
Only darts actually touching the board are counted when the score is
announced. If a dart knocks another out the fallen dart does not count.
- If
a dart is resting on top of another the point must be touching the board to
score. The point touching a wire does not score.
- All
darts thrown shall count as a throw whether sticking in the board or not
except when bulling up.
- Chalk
and board or electronic scoring may be used and the subtraction method of
scoring employed. Each players score must be shown. The board must be fixed
in a prominent position to the wall.
- A
player may make one transfer per season agreed by the Home and Receiving
Captain no later than 8 weeks before the end of the season. This must be in
writing and produced at the meeting before he can play subject to a transfer
fee of £2.
- Matches
to be played on Monday evenings. Draw to be made at 8-20pm and games to
start at 8-30pm. Re-arranged games see rule 21.
- A
postponement of a fixture may be allowed at the committees discretion.
- Teams
not turning up shall forfeit the match 8-0.
- The
Captain must hand in Match cards by 8pm the following Monday. Late cards
will incur a £5 fine.
- Any
team not attending meetings shall be fined £5.
- All
players must have played in a minimum of 6 League games before they can play
in any competitions.
- All
teams must be financially up to date at the halfway stage before playing the
second half fixtures.
- Any
team owing money at the end of the season will not be allowed to play any
season after until the money owing is paid in full.
- A
player from a team owing money will also not be allowed to play unless they
pay a percentage of the money owed to the league.
- Knock
Out Competitions.

Cup-------------7 A side, best of 3 legs.
- Singles
KO-----------Dave Rowlands, 501 Straight Start. Best of 3 legs.
- Singles
KO-----------Alexander Lodge, 301 Nominated Double Start. Best of 3 legs.
- Pairs
KO-------------501, Nomination double start, best of 3 legs.
- Handicap
Cup-------Team of 5 Singles of one leg each.
- Teams
not turning up for Knock Out Competitions will be disqualified.
- The
Executive committee will make the draws governing all competitions. The
League shall be run by the Executive Committee only.
- No
new players to sign for a team after signing on sheets have been handed in
unless agreed by the Secretary before they play. Failure to do so will
result in a 8-0 loss of the game played.
- Signing
on sheets to be handed in at the same time as the League fees are paid.
- Should
any questions arise not covered by the rules they will be resolved by the
Executive Committee.
The Management request that all clubs and players
assist them by conforming to these rules to ensure the good government and
success of the “Rugeley And District Monday Night Darts League”
