Congratulations. (Dated 2/7/09)

With two games still to play the Pear Tree Club have undoubtedly won the league again as they are 8 points clear of the Prince Of Wales who are on 51points with Libbys "A"  who have a result not yet included. It is not really surprising that the Club do so well with players like Mountford, Gormley, Benn, Marsh, Cox, of course Skin, the clubs excellent bar manager, Mark, who is also a mean darts player and their Captain Will Hall. Will has also won the Captains Cup with 12 points clear of the Castle B Captain and Libbys Bandits Captain, who with 2 results still to come have no chance of catching Will.

In the Shadow League the Plough "A" are going to be the winners as they are 6 points clear, with a result still to come, of the Castle "B" who are the nearest contenders.

Although the Rugley Monday Night League is really a men's league, quite a few Ladies are happy to play in it with some of them outshining most of the male players by having some spectacular starts and finishes. Kaz Morgan of the Plough Wanderers regularly puts in some fine darts and this season has hit a "180" score and a "146" start that was beaten by beaten by Jacky McFarlane of the Miners arms who had a "160." Kaz also had a "110" finish, but that too was beaten by her team mate Marg Giles who had a "140" finish. Kaz also had a rather special 9 darter in one game.

In the men's achievements there were dozens of 180's hit by many players with Ryan Herrington hitting 4 and Mark Hylton hitting a magnificent 10, so far.

In the "Starts" category Darren Pocket hit 4 X 160 starts, Will Hall hit 5 and Mark Hylton was top again with a superb 9, so far.

The best finishing included numerous finishes over 140, but Skin Thompson, who also hit a 150 finish outscored everybody with an unbeatable 170 finish.

There were not so many claims for "Least Darts in the 501 doubles, but Adam Johnson who played with Colin Boulton of the Castle claimed a splendid 13 darter. The stars for finishing in the singles were Ryan Herrington and Mark Hylton who both had 7 darters although Mark had two, as well as 8 and 9 darters. Will Hall had two 8 darters and there were more than a dozen claims altogether for 8 darters. There were more than 20 claims for 9 dart games.

Mark Hylton lost a few singles games this year, but he is still in the top few of the listing with Adam Johnson currently at the top only having lost 2 so far, with 2 games to go.
