Dan Williams

Young Dan Williams of the Plough team is rapidly becoming a player to be reckoned with, a fact that is acknowledged by many of the older, more experienced players in the league. That really is a bit silly saying that because at only 11 years old EVERYBODY in the league is older than him!!!  The growing respect for him can easily be seen from some of the comments that have been put on the Guest Book and the very fact that his winning or losing even merits a mention in the first place!!! Most players seem to get a mention these days for the amount of sandwiches they eat, not how well or badly they have played!!!

Dan Williams has already had several mentions in different write-ups about his abilities on both the Monday and Wednesday darts web-sites. See Wednesday Article But on Sunday 21st February Dan will be playing in the Leicestershire Youth Open at 22/24 Coleridge Drive, Enderby, Leicester, where he will be competing in his first competition in the under 14’s category with up to £1,000 of prize money at stake and that has got to be worth another mention. Kaz Morgan has paid the £5 entrance fee for him, because she sees a future with a lot of potential for him. In her own words, “I have entered Daniel in this as I see him as a very good player and want to push him as much as possible. You never know he could be as good as Phil Taylor if he keeps it up!” From some of his achievements so far, that have been mentioned in other articles, Kaz could well be right!!!

The doors open at 9.30am and it could be a long day as there will also be categories for the “Under 18’s and Under 21’s,” but I am sure Dan would welcome as much support as possible from his fellow players in the Rugeley Darts Leagues if any of you want to travel over for the day and watch some darts.
