Big Knock Out At Libbys

Bank holliday Monday 2nd of January 2006 saw a big darts KO at Libbys Bar in Rugeley run by Graham Jellyman and sponsored by Chase Cars. There was only going to be a winners prize of £150 but on the day Graham decided to add £50 extra for a runners up prize. It was a good turn out with players coming from as far a field as Derby to enter.

Early games saw Ticker Brindley scrape through against Paul Williams and Mark Perry knock out old hand George Hylton. Charlie Burns, captain of Libby's own team knocked out Paul Redfern.

In the next round Ticker Brindley played somewhat better to beat favourite Wil Hall who stars for Libby's team. Another Libby's player, John Gartshore, miraculously beat his captain Charlie Burns, although nobody could understand how he did! Everybody said that Charlie must have been bribed to throw the game and there was talk of dope testing but someone said John Gartshore would pass a dope test anyway!

There was a great Quarter final game when Kev Taylor beat Skin Thompson and Mark Perry beat Ticker Brindley. John Gartshore's luck ran out when he drew Mark Hylton who easily beat him. Tam McCail also beat Barry Aston.

Mark Hylton sailed through easily beating Mark Perry in the Semi final and Kev Taylor played a great game to beat Tam McCail.

What a final!!
                Mark Hylton  V  Kev Taylor
The first leg was won by Mark in 10 darts.
The second leg was won by Mark in 8 darts.
BUT Kev was on a shot out right behind him if he had missed. It was the best 301 Final I've ever seen. I can't wait for the next one!
Darts just gets better.
