Brinkley Red Lion 1 v 5 Bottisham Sunday 3A League Game

Bottisham Kick Off Season Week Late
After last weeks terrible start, Bottisham pulled a win out of the bag. A good team performance saw new signing Ibi bag a stylish hat-trick, his first being the pick of the bunch. Our passing game which had completely deserted us last week had been re-found, both wide players Meady and Grunt were finding space to take on players and deliver good crosses. Darren Williams in his new forward role got himself on the score sheet with an over accurate 25 yard cross that found the top corner. The fifth and final goal was the goal of the game, James "ladyboy" Baston-Pitt found himself 30 yards from goal and hit an unstoppable half volley.
Brinkley never stopped going and got the goal they deserved near the end, good luck for rest of the season lads! New season, new players and new management for Bottisham so need to keep improving. We've definitely got the squad to push for promotion this year.

Alma 4 v 0 Bottisham Sunday
3A League Game

Bottisham Well Beaten
Not a great start to this season losing 2 out of the first 3, really not promotion form! Bottisham had five first teamers missing for the trip to Coldhams Common but that was really no excuse. Again another bad opening twenty mins saw Bottisham 2-0 down, after that we seemed to wake up and play some good stuff towards the end of the half. We started the 2nd half the stronger but couldn't find a way through the srong Alma back line. In the last twenty mins we pushed forward in numbers looking for goal to kick start our game, but in doing so got caught twice on the counter attack. Well done to the Alma boys who looked strong all over the park and deserved the result, good luck for rest of season lads! Bottisham have got to start playing or promotion is well and truly out the window! We're just not showing the form of last year, pick yourself up Lads

Bottisham Sunday 3 v 0 Wicken Maids Head
3A League Game

Getting Better
After our poor start to season with two losses in three games, we finally won a game and played well! At times we played some good attacking football, with the Wicken keeper making some great stops from players all over the park. However we should of hit the back of the net a lot more especially in the second half, we cannot afford to miss as many chances in future games if we want promotion. The first goal was a well worked move down the right with Shaun Blayney getting his head to a good cross and guiding it passed the keeper. Some neat interplay created several chances but none were taken. The second was a 25 yard thunderbolt from Lol Maskell decieving the keeper. Third goal was again well worked with Ibi supplying a good finish to beat the keeper with the aid of a deflection.
The Wicken boys worked hard and I think if they can play like that for rest of season they will get the victory they all crave for. As for Bottisham we still need to keep improving to challenge for promotion, but Sunday was a good team performance.
