Match reports

18th September 2004
Burwell Tigers 5-1 Bottisham
The team started their first match slowly with the home team showing a greater awareness on the pitch. However, the boys 'stuck at it' and were rewarded with their first league goal, and managed to finish the match as the stonger team.

25th September 2004
Bottisham 0-16 Chesterton Eagles
Far outplayed by a very strong footballing team the boys dd not give up and fought until the final whistle.

2nd October 2004
Cottenham 'A' 9-1 Bottisham
The boys led 0-1 after the first period and deserved the lead after playing crisp, fast football. Cottenham's strength and experience shone through in the last two periods.

16th October 2004
Bottisham 6-2 Cottenham 'B'
After a well-deserved week off from league football the boys suddenly 'clicked', showing that they were learning their trade well. Dominant for most of the match they were rewarded with their first win of the season. Good football, speed and concentration were the three main ingredientsof their success. Well done boys.

30th October 2004
Histon Hornets 16-1 Bottisham
A very well organised squad as expected. Gave our team a sharp reminder of how to play team football. However, we scored another goal - which was deserved - through our resistance.

13th November 2004
Bottisham 0-8 Mildenhall
The second match in our hardest group of matches (five in a row against big clubs) produced by far the best performance of the season. Every member of the team gave 110%, never faltering in their commitment. This was one of Mildenhall's worst results so far.

27th November 2004
Milton 17-0 Bottisham
As expected Milton were very strong and played very good attacking football. On the day we were no match for them.

11th December 2004
Bottisham 0-12 Newmarket
Yet again a very well organised display from our opponents. An awesome display of courage and commitment from all of our team brought compliments from the Newmarket managers and parents. We were unlucky not to score 3 or 4 goals, but very well done.

18th December 2004
Bottisham 3-0 Waterbeach Colts
Happy Christmas to all our players, parents and coaches. The boys gave us all an early Christmas present of a display of football unseen so far this year. 1-0 up after 4 minutes, it stayed the same until 4 minutes from the end when we made the game safe. What a way to finish the year. Brilliant.

22nd January 2005
Bottisham 3-2 Burwell Tigers
A very strong performance saw the 8's 3-0 going into the final period. They had played brilliantly in the first three periods, however Burwell rallied themselves and scored two quick goals in the final period. A frantic last five minutes but we held on to claim the win.

29th January 2005
Bottisham 1-4 Waterbeach Colts
A case of over-confidence caused the defeat in a match that we had been looking forward to. A good performance by the visitors proved too much for us on the day.

5th February 2005
Chesterton Eagles 9-0 Bottisham
The scoreline doesn't reflect the performance we were treated to. Last time out Chesterton beat us 16-0 so there was a massive improvement. We were unlucky not to score a couple of goals in the last period.

19th February 2005
Bottisham 2-3 Cottenham 'A'
Two-nil down after the first period. Two-two after the second period. Still all square after the third period. We were pushing hard for the goal that would give us the victory but were hit on the break with less than two minutes remaining.

5th March 2005
Cottenham 'B' 0 - 8 Bottisham
Only eight players available for a match which we were confident we could win. All eight players stood up to be counted in a performance that we could only dream about. Absolutely awesome.
