September 05
Bottisham 4 - 7 Saffron Walden Town A
After a slow and shaky start to the match we found ourselves
0-4 down. But through persistence and excellent 'passing' football
the boys gradually dragged themselves back into the match and
were unlucky not to score more goals. All in all we witnessed
a superb display from both teams. Goalscorers: Sam 2 (one brilliant
header from a corner), Matt L, Toby

Withersfield Colts 15 - 1 Bottisham
As in our last match we had a slow and shaky start to the match,
and found ourselves 5-0 down after the first period. Getting
players behind the ball and clearing our lines were our main
problems. 'Perhaps we need to impose a Friday night curfew,
like Alex Ferguson'. The boys continued to try and play football
but were sadly outclassed by possibly the best attacking team
we have seen in our time together.
Goalscorer: Charlie. A cracking free-kick from outside the area,
straight into the top corner of the net

Bottisham 1-5 Aztecs A
After the heavy defeat in our last match the boys picked themselves
up, dusted themselves off and started all over again. They played
some good football going forward, never letting the other team
run away with the match, but the best performances of the match
came from the four boys who had been chosen to play in defence.

Aztecs B 8 - 1 Bottisham
We arrived at Linton with only 7 fully fit players for this
match ( due to half term holidays and illness). However, we
were amazed (and very proud) at how hard the team battled and
foughtall the way to the final whistle. A special mention must
be given to Tom for his outstanding effort playing in goal for
the whole match. He made at least 15 top class savesform all
angles to save our team from a severe beating.

November 05
Bottisham 1-12 Balsham
I
though this scoreline was a bit flattering to the opposition,
as we played some good football for the first three periods
of play, some solid defending and some nice football going forward
were sadly only rewarded with one goal. A lesson the boys need
to take on board is that all successful teams start form the
defence.

Spartak 78A 9-0 Bottisham
The performance was a lot better than this scoreline suggests.
The weather was cold, wet and foggy but the boys still managed
to play some good football. They deserved to score but perhaps
the shock caused by the coach not getting us lost before we
got there was too much for them.

December 05
Cherry Hinton Lions 1-1 Bottisham
As this scoreline suggests, this was a very even match.
The boys deserved to be ahead after the first period and were
unlucky not to score in all but one period. This was probably
their best team performance of the season so far.

January 06
Bottisham 1-11 Fulbourn Falcons
With a depleted squad the boys took on the Falcons with
their usual enthusiasm, but were no match for a powerful, organised
team (as expected) from Fulbourn. A bit disapointing that the
league had re-scheduled this match on the first saturday back
after the Christmas break, as we had not trained for the previous
2 weeks.
Goalscorer: Joe (a thunderbolt shot from his own half).

NST Strikers 6-0 Bottisham
This scoreline a totally different game from the one we
watched. With 2 players missing through illness we matched NST
in all areas of play and could have led after the first period.
I'm sure if we had got an early goal we would have followed
it with more.
