Synopsis Saul Darrow is a social worker. Black but third generation, his upbringing was as English as roast beef - a matter which causes some friction with his wife. Saul finds himself involved in investigating an attack on an immegrant matriarch, Mamman Edie, following which a boy goes missing after the death of his father. The trail leads Saul to the realisation that some of the voodoo spirits have returned to Earth, and to do so they need human hosts... Comment This is one story which could have done with longer to tell. As it is, the narrative is a little confusing, and the action jumps about from place to place, following the possession of three humans by the spirits. It makes more sense if you know what's meant to be happening, but without that knowledge, it's all a bit of a mess.
