Synopsis
Lauren is a member of the perfect mid-twenties, upwardly mobile Cold Feet, Friends 'family'. Joel is a workaholic at his computer terminal, Bruce and Chloe have acquired the ultimate fashion accessory - a baby - and have no idea what to do with it, Stella drifts Bridget-Jones-like through her hopeless quest for a man.

Their lives change when Lauren meets a new man, Lucien, whose cool credentials as a TV producer instantly make him part of the gang. But Lucien offers tempation, and his offers tend to come true - the friends are soon torn apart by simply getting what they want. Realising this, they plot to kill him, but can a man who seems to wield such power be easily killed...

Comment
Great fun. A wonderful poke in the eye to all the tedious sitcoms, this episode shows what happens to a group of perfect people if they actually get what they want. In places it's shocking, and the friends go through the mill, but ultimately there's a great moral here. The only thing that lets it down is the very end, which seems out of place. Is it all just a TV stunt?

Davina Taylor Speaks ...

In Maxim Magazine, Davina Taylor had the following to say about her appearance in Urban Gothic:

In Urban Gothic you had to shag the devil on top of Primrose Hill. An unusual experience?

It was actually the most embarrassing acting job of my life. It was the middle of the night, I was stone cold sober and had never met the guy before. I had to get all my kit off and they just said, 'Action!' I'd forgotten how to do it and I was more nervous of people walking their dogs and having a gawp. Anyway, we ended up doing it there all night with all the tramps wandering about. Not what you could call an erotic experience.
